How does grout stain look?

Posted by tartanhabit (My Page) on

Does anyone have experience of staining grout. We've had various issues of uneven grout and one option that has been presented to us is using a grout stain. I worry that it will look fake and unnatural. Anyone out there have opinions/experience of what it looks like. I've looked at some online images but it's really hard to tell.

Thanks so much! I hope there will be a time when I'm not posting about grout but not yet :-)

If your grout is funky and you don't like it and don't want to tear it out, a grout stain works fine. The colour you see is the one you'll get....and you don't have to seal it.

It might be a last resort. I'm having a hard time finding someone who will do a regrout of 2 bathrooms with sanded grout; the complaint being that sanded grout is hard to get out and it's risky for tiles. StoneTech, do you have any thoughts on that?

I was wondering if grout stain would look weird and unnatural though - not like grout normally looks. Thanks for your input.
