I have had Toto Sanagloss toilets in my last two homes and am very happy with them. Toto make excellent products in my opinion.

Thanks Jackfre. So I assume you didn't have the odd glazing issue I am seeing.

I can't see the crackle in your picture, so not sure.

The glazing in the trapway is a little rough--ON PURPOSE.

If it were perfectly smooth, things (toilet paper) would stick to it. The roughness keeps things from sticking/adhering to it (stick a vinyl decal to a window versus to a rough wall).

But, the glazing of the roughness is smooth, so things slide across it.

Does that make sense?

As for the dirtiness--that is typical of anything in a warehouse.

As for the crackle, well, I'm not sure what you mean.

Toto with sanagloss has been fabulous for us. We have 3 total--one drake II and 2 vespin IIs.

So in my search of the internet I found someone else who apparently had the same issue I have on the same Toto toilet (Vespin). If you look closely at their pictures you see the crackle finish (although I think mine looks much worse)

The post is from a year ago, and there is no follow-up as to if or how the issue was resolved, but at least I know I am not seeing things.

So after I wiped the dirt out of the bowl in my attempt to take a better picture, I noticed there is actually a small nick in the bowl where there is no glaze.

I also noticed that the trapway doesn't appear to be glazed the entire length. I though this toilet had a "fully glazed trapway". Not that it is a big deal...as I don't know if my Kohler's have a fully glazed trapway. I just wasn't expecting to feel unglazed porcelain when I stuck my hand down the trapway.

My new bowl isn't going to be delivered until the end of the month, so here is to hoping I have better luck with the next one!

Toto is having some inventory/backorder issues right now ... I hope it doesn't mean they are having quality issues too.

I ordered a Toto Legato and it took 3 months to arrive. About a month ago they thought it was going to be another 6 months, but they must have found some to ship out! I'll be picking it up next week, so will make sure to check the toilet at the plumbing supply store, before I drag it all the way home.
