Bathroom remodeling, questions about shower

Hi All~

We have a very small 1 bedroom/1 bath condo and have decided to remodel the bathroom to take it out of its original 80s style in preparation for resale. We currently have plumbing issues behind our tiled shower/bath that need to be addressed and are planning on resurfacing the tub and getting a shower insert. I was wondering what is the best "budget" shower insert people have used. I'm also worried about the ability of any of these to be used with an original tub vs. that specific brands tub. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Buy a new tub. Don't resurface it.
