We installed a trough sink in a 66" vanity. I like it Ours is a bit shallow but i only use it to brush teeth, wash face and hands. If you ever use it to wash your hair you might not like it but it actually fills up pretty quickly. It's only been functional for 2 weeks so I think my husband and I have only used it at the same time once. It was no problem but we used to have one sink and had no problem sharing it.
We have a wooden "bridge" that we put in the middle to hold shared items like toothpaste. It came with the sink made by Wetstyle in Canada.

Nice vanity and set up you have there! Is it a soapstone top?

Did you undermount one of their sinks that are on their website displayed as the type of sinks that sit on the vanity top? I can't seem to find undermount on their website. And, how long is your sink?

My problem is that I don't have nearly as much room as you do and would need to do a considerably smaller set up.

I think I really need to clean the lens on my phone camera. Sorry for the quality of the picture. The top is soapstone and we did undermount the sink. The model is VC 848U. It took weeks to come in. I as originally told 10 days. It was much closer to 6 weeks The interior dimensions are 46 x 13 x 3.75. Our vanity is 66 x 21 with a 1" over hang on front and sides. And we do have a soapstone back-splash. The faucets are "beefy" and they just fit. Have you looked at Kohler? they have some really cool trough sinks. I think they can either be dropped into a vanity or have legs attached but that means no storage.

I saw this on the DIY network, one of the Blog Cabin episodes. They dropped it into a rustic chunk, IIRC, of wood and it looked great. Home Depot sometimes has this model on sale. :-)

This is a different and intriguing idea. I'll have to think it through. But, like you, I suspect my husband is going to think it is a crazy idea. We too are trying to get a period look in the bathroom since we have an old house.
