I would like to use a linear drain in our new steam shower. Are there options that look good and function well, but don't cost $700? I recall seeing a thread recently about a new, less expensive option, but I can't find it again.

Probably the Laticrete drain? Here's the first hit I got...certainly shop around more.

I had a great experience with www.showergrateshop.com, great customer service and really polished looking drains.
Here is a link that might be useful: linear drains shower grate shop
