Can I ask why they only waterproofed the lower portion of the stall?

We got semi-frameless glass door for smaller opening --
there is big difference in price and a semi-frameless can look very nice

you just need to decide before they finish the tile job and framing probably...

I looked online and found a quality company in town next to ours (Dallas TX) and had local glass company do the install--they bought the door at their discount after I decided what type of glass (tint or no tint) and handle we wanted...

you can also get a towel bar across the door to use as handle...

you can also order online and have shipped to save more money if you think you are getting a good deal/product/supplier

Thank you Loves. He waterproofed the entire thing. That picture just wasn't finished yet. It's been going in VERY slow steps.

That just means you have a good crew--
rushing when you remodel is just first step to failure IMO

Go have a chat with a couple local glass companies who do shower doors. See if you you need any additional framing done for the different types of door installations. Show them your photos and discuss your options. The glass is normally the last thing that gets installed.

And don't think you need a shower door specialist company.

In my area some of the best shower work is done by a company that only advertises for auto glass.

Consider two other issues: 1) protection from hard water stains to keep the glass clean looking without as much effort (like the Showerguard product); and 2) iron content in glass -- "regular" shower glass has a green tint from the iron, which distorts the color of your tile when you look through it. If you don't like that, ask about Starphire glass, which is low iron and very clear.
