I'm not a fan of tp holders either, but we didn't have a choice in our guest bath remodel. I found one that is very sturdy, but pricey. I didn't care though. I wanted one that wasn't going to get knocked over.

I agree that tp holder on the wall behind the toilet wouldn't work. If you post your layout, I'm sure someone will come up with an idea for you.

I would do what ever you need to do to insure an adiquate location for the TP. Whether you build a pony wall or have a free standing holder is up to you. But I vote for installation on a wall if at all able. The function of the pony wall can be improved by adding a pullout in the end, for storage.

What is on either side of the toilet? In my main/guest bathroom, we installed the holder on the side of the vanity. Previously we had the dreaded free standing holder and I hated it.

A washlet toilet seat?????? ;-)
