Waterproofing an Ikea Vanity

My friend is thinking of using Ikea vanities in a rental property. I know they're cheap and don't last forever, but they look so much better than anything else in the $200-400 range. I think they could help the apartment rent for at least $100-200 more than the cheap, traditional-looking vanities from HD or Lowes

Is there a way to waterproof these to maximize their useable life?

Practically, no.

Vanity expenses are cost of doing business.

Which vanity are you considering? The glossy Goodmorgon has good reviews at Ikea hackers.
