Is the window centered on the 5-foot wall? Where is the door?

This is the classic 5 x 8 layout. If you put in a pocket door, you might be able to fit a vanity with counter space under the window wall, but the sink couldn't be under the window. Where is the window on the wall?

The window is in the corner on the 5 ft wall where the sink is in the above layout. GC is telling me that a 5 x 8 is plenty of room for a 12 yr old's bathroom but I think I would want room for a vanity as well as resale. If I forgo the closet which is going to be next to the bathroom I can expand the 5 foot wall and make an 8 x 8 bathroom or anything in-between. That window location that cannot move due to roof line so other than needing more tile and gaining a vanity what else would I gain design wise if I go to the full 8 x 8?
Any websites with design layouts I can look at?

How big a vanity do you want? You can fit a 36" wide vanity into the space where the sink is.

FWIW, you can fit a vanity into a 5x8. It doesn't have to be a pedestal sink. There are lots of 30" vanities available.

Oops. Mistake in my earlier message. Weedyacres is correct. In the 5 x 8 bathroom you can fit a 30" vanity, not 36".
In the 8x8 bathroom I drew a 60" vanity.

The 8 x 8 layout seuro drew above is fairly accurate except for a 2 foot bumpout behind that vanity where the ductwork for the a/c needs to go. That might actually work because then there will be a little alcove for the toilet right under the window.
This 8 x8 also gives me room for a small storage tower or closet behind the door swing.

Also still trying to decide if I just want a shower enclosure or a tub/shower.

I really appreciate all these ideas.

Is there a website or downloadable layout design like the one you guys are using?
