semi x-post: bizarre tile job

It *did* get covered with beadboard after the fact, but that someone even *thought* this would be acceptable before and as they did it is pretty scary. This was not DIY, this was a contractor (or two contractors--they tile up to the "seam" on the right side already existed)

Wow ugly. The right side looks good. What is the story on this? I don't get what you mean regarding beadboard.

The right side of the tile was in a powder room. They did a decent job, but they replaced a soft pink tile that was appropriate to the house.

When the house was on the market they decided to expand the powder room into a 3/4 bath, and that's when they did the left side. They immediately covered it over with beadboard when they saw the result.

I think that is just amazing. It also made me think that I do not want handmade tiles in my bathroom which are prone to doing that sticking out thing - lol.

jerzeegirl, I have a handmade tile backsplash and the tiles don't "do that sticking out thing" at all! This is botched tiling job, not botched tile :-)
