Frameless glass doors need to be properly maintained to protect your investment. I use 2 products:

1) CRL "Sparkle" pro grade cleaner and stain remover
2) CRL TPL Surface protector - Transparent Polymer Coating

Do not use anything acidic or the "spray on leave on" cleaners....these will permanently "etch" the glass so it always look like you have water stains.

Key to shower doors is keeping up with the maintenance. I also like the Cleret brand squeegees. It has a nice feel to the handle and has 2 rubber squeegees built into it.

After drying I buff it with a microfiber cloth. Might not be good for it, but it keeps is clean looking.

The local frameless shower enclosure supplier recommends RainX to be applied to the glass when it's sqeaky clean.

I love that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, but I'd be concerned about using it on the glass again & again.

Beverly, that is not such safe advice that your supplier gave you. One shouldn't use RainX indoors, although so many people do. It is for car windshields and outdoor use. The fumes are bad, the product offgasses, and is not meant for indoor bathrooms. Instead, use a product called Clean Shield Gel or Invisibile Shield Liquid which are specifically meant as a bathroom protectant. They are made by Unelco, which was the company that originally formulated RainX, then sold RainX to another manufacturer. Clean Shield Gel accomplishes the same thing as RainX, except it is designated specifically for indoor use, with no VOC's.

Has anyone ever heard of Diamond Fusion -- it's like "permanent RainX" -- it was applied to my shower door at the shop before installation, and seems to be doing a great job of keeping water from streaking/spotting.

CRL products are the best. The are the best in all shower door parts (frameless clips, hinges, cleaners, frameless caulking, etc). Most professional only use their products.

now I feel a lot more confident in going with that option.
