Minimum height for rainfall shower head?

My shower stall has a soffit on top of it. The shower is about 83" high. The outlet for the shower head is at 77".

I like the idea of an overhead shower head. However, I am not sure if it would work in my situation. Assuming that the shower head would be at or even below the 77" it seems like there is not much clearance. Also, from a design perspective, the shower head extension would be very close to the ceiling.

Has anyone done or considered this type of installation?

Don't they have articulated arms so you can adjust for any height, or are you re-plumbing to come out the ceiling?

Neither, I am planning to use a "shower Panel". The shower head comes out straight. I am not limited by current shower head height of 77". However, I am limited by the soffit at 83". The vendor suggest an installation height of about 82". I guess I could go a bit lower? Still, would it look strange to have a shower head that close to the ceiling (soffit)?
