Tipping your workers?

Does anyone tip their workers? I'm talking about the electrician, plumber, tile guy, etc? Monetary tips? Or gifts?

Especially if you are paying them directly and not through a General Contractor. Or what about tipping a General Contractor if you're using one?

Thoughts pro or con?

RE: Tipping your workers?

Yes we do, depending on how they did their jobs.

We even tip the cable guy if he is courteous etc.

But we have never used a General Contractor, so not sure about that one.

RE: Tipping your workers?

I've tipped for someone who went over and above to make something right. I've also tipped for good project input for something I felt really enhanced a project that I hadn't thought of. And once for good artistic input.
