Good height for travertine backsplash?

So yet another question came up. We're having a 60" vanity with a travertine countertop. I know the usual height of a matching travertine backsplash is 4" but the tile person suggested we may want to use a 6" tall one.
This sounds like it may look sort of posh but is it too high for the size of the countertop? The vanity will not go wall to wall as you can see from the layout.
We having the shower threshold and the door to the mater bedroom threshold also out of the travertine.
