Can you paint an acrylic tub?

Can you paint the underside of a free standing acrylic tub?

I am in the market for a clawfoot tub. I'm not having much luck finding a cast iron one that's long enough. So I'm considering going with acrylic.

But I had really wanted to paint the underside something other than white. Can I do that with an acrylic tub?

Sure , but it'll take a TON of prep work and special paint and a good spray rig.

It's not a DIY job , or even one for your house painter. An auto body shop that is used yo dealing with foreign exotic cars or a boat shop is the place to have it done.

It's also going to cost as much or more than the price of the tub to do it right.

Keep it white for more color coordination options.
