My fabricator had me reject a granite slab that had similar "fractures" as he said it made the slab unpredictable when being cut.

The fabricator is the one selling the remnant. I guess if it breaks, I won't be out anything. The fractures seem like they aren't very deep and we would have the piece honed so we're hoping they won't be as noticeable.

Update: I decided that I did not want the piece. After looking at a honed piece that they were working on, I knew that the white marks would still be noticeable. We ended up with another Calacatta piece that we are much happier with.

Question is, would anyone happen to know what the metallic looking specs are in the marble? On first glimpse, they look like black dots. But at certain angles, they actually look more like a metal. There are more dots that I would have preferred, but overall, I'm happy with it.

Natural inclusions.

I'm curious whether these inclusions are iron or something else? I know iron can react and yellow marble when exposed to moisture. If these specs are iron, will I need to be extra diligent with sealing being that they are now at the surface and exposed.
