Wainscotting instead of tile?

I see they make this in a moisture resistant variety. It's less than tile but does it hold up over the years? It comes in a wider or smaller sized "plank". Have you been happy with yours? Did you buy it prepainted or paint it? Does this always say country? I prefer the paneled type but that's not moisture resistant. Would love any feedback on this stuff.

I'm not sure if this will help much, but we just installed board and batten wainscot in a teeny half bath.

It looks great and not country at all. We made our own with 1/2in plywood (with a birch veneer) and 1/2in 1x3 and 1x4 top rail, painted with 2 coats primer and 2 coats good acrylic paint.

Since this is a half bath, the moisture concern is fairly low. Our sink will wall mount, but it's a 1920s sink with a high back, so I'm not concerned about water splashing.

We love how it looks, however I don't plan to use wainscoting in either of my full bathrooms where moisture is more of a concern.
