Mine is being installed TODAY so I can't comment on using it yet. I can say I ordered mine through a friend who owns a plumbing supply store and they sell mostly Bain ultra. She strongly recommended the bain ultra (she sold it at cost so no she had no reason to try to sell me on a higher priced tub!). She has one, as well as most members of her family and has said they couldn't be happier with their choice.

Love mine. Very nice quality adn customer support is awesome. It's a favorite of this bathroom forum too. I have no personal comparison except for what I "heard" in the showroom. The salesperson ran the BU and then another brand (Maxx, I think) air tub and the BU wasn't as loud. Mine is the Thalassa w/Chromatherapy.

A bathroom store, I wondered into, suggested a Vita Bath air-bath. What are the opinions on that?

The price is very low  their "Venetian" model, for example, can be had for about 25% less than American Standard or Bain Ultra of same size/shape. And that price includes air-heater (so that the injected bubbles don't chill your hot water too quickly).

Also, supposedly, Vita Bath is made in America (Florida) Â to order... I wish, I could see them side by side with others to compare, but nobody seems to carry all :-(

I have had nothing but problems with my Bain Ultra jet tub. My tub would turn on randomly throughout the night, so I would be in bed and hear air rushing from the tub in the middle of the night. Within a year of installation the lights on the keypad stopped functioning. Called their customer service department and they will not honor their warranty. Apparently their electronics and keypads are poorly constructed. The Bain employee I spoke to suggested I replace the tub altogether.

Best way to fix your problem would be to get rid of the Bain Ultra tub and purchase a new tub that is not made by these folks up in Canada.

My Bain Ultra is 14 years old. Never ANY problem.

Great to work with a reputable American company should you have any problems. I regret making this purchase from an international company that does not back up their products.
