Adding additional shower head, need diverter?

Posted by ShellKing (My Page) on

We are tearing apart our shower. We have an existing Moen shower with Moentrol . We like that system. We want to change the trim and also add a handheld shower. Can we use the existing rough-in? We would need to purchase a diverter separately? And the new trim? I'm a little confused.

Hi ShellKing,
So sorry I can't help you directly, I feel your pain... trying to find a diverter that will work to marry a delacora faucet with an Alsons handheld and it ain't easy.

I am sure someone more qualified will be along soon but in the interim check out this link. Has great information, Mongoct is awesome. Scroll down and you'll see he also posts a link to FAQ for Dummies (no insult intended) and it also has great info.
Good luck!

Yes that was a very helpful post that Mongoct presented to my question. Good luck. Here is the link to the "Dummies" threat. They are both very helpful in understanding the pumbing. You might have to read them over several times for it to sink in; after all we are not too smart about these things;)
