I'd love to know too as we were considering travertine as well for a high traffic bathroom. I love the look but don't want to spend all my time cleaning it. Good luck with your remodel!

Six years ago we put in a honed travertine floor and a travertine steam shower (floor, walls and ceiling) in our master bath. It's been great and the cleaning is easier than it was with ceramic tiles and all the grout lines. We sealed it once when it was put in and haven't done it since and it looks brand new. Go for it if you like the look.

lagrant - What is your countertop? By any chance do you have a picture that you can post? We are putting in a honed travertine floor but are planning to use the same granite that we are using on the countertop for the tub surround. Never considered matching the floor and the tub surround. Wondering how it would look. Thanks

We have Versailles pattern travertine flooring in our bathrooms and used the rectangle pieces on shower walls. Largest size in MBath, smaller size in one guest bath. Sealed before we moved in 30 months ago and haven't since. Easy easy to keep clean. We do use a squeegee after showering on the two main (wettest) walls and the glass door. We used honed limestone in all 4 bathrooms for countertops. Sealed them also.

i love the look of my travertine with my croc tile in the shower (our floor in the shower is the same as the ceiling) and with granite in my sons shower tub area :) I did my research ahead of time and no one whined about the upkeep so i went for it.

my tub surround will have brown croc on top and travertine walls as well. its a gorgeous material with granite or other finishes (like my porceline).

"StoneTech" makes a great cleaner called "Revitalizer." It's a concentrate that you mix as per instructions, and put it in a spray bottle. It's a neutral cleaner that has just a tad of sealer in it, so it cleans and keeps the sealer active at the same time.
