There was a thread on this in the last six months, I believe, somewhat mixed reviews. I really love my black toilet, can't imagine any other color for the powder room!

We do not have black, but Kohler thunder grey pedestal sink and toilet. As for the toilet - I think it is easier to maintain or more "forgiving if you forget cleaning" than the white toilets we have. However, the sink needs constant cleaning. White toothpaste spit, soap, lotion etc all show a lot. I wipe through it after every handwashing

I personally don't like black toilets because I can't tell if they are clean or dirty so I assume they are dirty. I want to bring up another practical reason and this was a recent experience. If you have a medical condition that you excrete blood in your urine, with a black toilet it is harder to tell that this is happening. A friends husband just noticed that he was peeing blood because they had black and red toilets in their home.

If you are planning on selling your home ever, go with white. I'm sure there are some people who would love a black toilet, but it isn't most people's cup of tea.

As for maintaining black vs white, there really is no difference in how you would clean them. White shows dark stains more and black shows white stains. They are the same amount of clean/dirty though whether you can see it well or not.

Thanks, all. No, we're not planning on selling anytime soon. But I am concerned about the sink stains. This bathroom will probably have the most amount of handwashing and toothbrushing so maybe I ought to stick with white...

Hi, I have an all black bathroom, tub, shower base, toilet, and pedestal sink. I will tell you they are beautiful and I love the look of all of them. I however would not get the color again. The sink is the my biggest problem, it always looks dirty to me. It is the water spots. I clean it all the time.
The toilet is not as big of a problem and the tub is the water spots as well. If you like to wipe things down, then go for it.
This is not my main bath, but one used in the lower level of the house. I again will say the black in the room is striking!

The local Lowe's used to have a black pedestal sink and toilet on display. The employees hated them because they said they had to dust them every day.
