| I'm wanting to redo the my half bath. It's just down the hall from my kitchen. The kitchen has golden oak cabinets that are in decent condition. The bathroom cabinets are looking fairly dingy, and I'd like to refinish them. But I really don't want to refinish them in that same color of oak.
Would it be strange to refinish the bathroom cabinets in a much darker stain...or maybe even paint them white? What do others think about having two very different stains in close proximity? |

| It's really more about personal preference and what you want. Unless you use a gel stain, finishing a wood cabinet like that could be a challenge, so I'd recommend painting it. I did ours a while back and painted it black. We used a a lighter paint color on the walls for contrast and it looks great. |
