Hello,

I am redoing a 1941 bathroom. I have removed the wall tile, that was throughout the bathroom, including the shower. In some areas the cement bed for the tile has pulled away from the wall and left large chunks of missing cement. The walls look like the are constructed as follows

Studs -> wire mesh -> Cement Scratch coat -> a different cement bed -> tile.

My question is, what type of cement should I use to patch the walls? I would be patching the layer of cement between the tile and the scratch coat. Some of the missing chunks are 1 foot in diameter.
