Kohler Archer vs. Verticyl: problems keeping them clean?

We are considering either the Kohler Archer or Verticyl for powder and/or guest bath. My husband is concerned that the different lines and angles in the Kohler will collect toothpaste that (children) won't completely rinse down the sink, and also voices concern that the flat base of the Verticyl will do the same.

I have the vertycil in my new bath. I haven't used it much, but i have noticed that the water does remain on the bottom of the sink. I would probably not purchase it again if I had a re-do.
