They are limited in what they can charge him with. Apparently there are loopholes in the laws meant to stop this behavior.

We DIY everything but DH suggested installing a hidden camera to watch contractors.

I wish they would tell us the details of the camera so people would know what to look for.

An article on a local TV site had this on the camera:

We have one of those we posted in the backyard to ID what kind of critters were having a party out there while we're sleeping - racoons as it turns out. Seems an odd choice for in-home spying, but maybe it's one he had around.

I missed that about the trail camera and I live in Amherst. We have a trail camera. You have to retrieve the "card" in it and load it on your computer. How was he planning on retrieving it? Unless he did it just during the construction.

Lets all check our vents....

I would think it would be a short term situation because the batteries would eventually run out, unless he put a charger on it and plugged it into a hidden socket.
