| without damaging the tile behind the dish? I am needing to remove it and I don't have any extra matching tiles to repair with. This is how bathrooms were done in the day when my house was built, they put toothbrush holders and soap dishes on the tile near the sink. So does anyone know how they are attached and if I stand a good chance of creating more of a problem if I try to remove it? |

| "Back in the day"...it depends on how far back we're going...but usually a tile was left off the wall and the dish was set in place of the tile with a dollop of plaster of paris. There might be variations, but in my small world that's how a soap dish or toothbrush holder was set in place. I'm referring to ones set onto a tiled wall. If yours is indeed simply surface applied over the tile, then your best bet would be to try to cleave it from the surface with a chisel of some sort and a mallet, with the chisel held at a very low angle. |
