Need help with caulking details

Should I use polyurithane or silicone caulking between the acrylic tub and the tile?
There is a 6 inch tile between the tub and wall on three sides that gets wet if water is splashed from the tub .Should the joint at the transition between the horizontal and vertical surfaces be caulked or grouted?
All input is appreciated.

Personally I would use a silicone based bathroom type caulk and ALL changes in plane get caulk NO grout.

Unanimous. Further, when caulking the tub, I always 3/4 fill the tub and then caulk. Let it set 24-48 hours before draining.

This allows the caulk to take a "set" in the "stressed" position and helps to eliminate the caulk pulling away under use...
