I'd say the pros are no grout lines and visual continuity from the vanities. Cons would have to be cost.

I need to make the same decision soon. Our project was on hold for a while. I would love to see more pictures.

Pros-No grout, easier to dust, easier to clean
Cons-Costs more than tile, greater risk of etching
