Shower Bench

Our shower will be about 3 x 5 feet. Rather than have a built-in shelf, I have been considering a small teak shower bench - maybe a small triangle one in the corner - to use for shaving my legs.

DH has latched onto the idea and now wants one that will be large enough he can sit on it at times. He is a big guy (6-4, 300 lbs). Would a 12 inch x 30 inch be large enough to be comfortable to sit on? Would it take up som much of the floor space in the shower we would feel crowded?

Any suggestions of makers?

Either a corner bench or a full width unit should be fine.

I'd go bigger than 12". 15-18" would be ideal. We have a 12" built in bench that runs the width of the shower and it is not deep enough to be comfortable, but it works just fine for leg shaving.

They make some that fold up when not in use, which might be good for a smaller shower. Check the weigh ratings because as I recall a lot of them top out at 250 or 300 pounds.
