Toto Aquia dual flush regrets?

Anybody else regretting their choice? As part of a major home renovation project about 5 years ago, my husband and I installed 2 Toto Aquia dual flush toilets, one in our master bath and the other in our guest bath. We have never been entirely happy with them. The primary problem is that with the low water level, you have to have awfully good aim or the toilet bowl will get dirty, and as often as not it does NOT wash it down! So we are flushing the toilet twice (which negates the water conservation aspect) or otherwise cleaning the bowl constantly, and when we have guests it is downright embarrassing. And we usually have to explain to our guests how to flush the damn thing! But the last straw is that the fill valve on one of them has failed, and on top of having to special order the replacement part, it turns out to be nearly impossible to replace ourselves. If we were doing it all over, we would NOT install these toilets.

I have a Guinevere (single flush), my first 1.28 gallon toilet, and hate it for the same reasons, right down to the guests being embarrassed. In my case the fill valve hasn't failed, but unless you empty the tank by holding the flush handle for 3-5 seconds, the flapper gets sucked into the hole, causing a massive internal leak, . Adjustment helps, but only for a while. The sanagloss appears to make things worse, as nastiness seems to grab and hold on even above the water line, requiring frequent brushing. No more Sanagloss (more like "snag - gloss") and no more 1.28 gallon toilets for me!

This is a terribly designed toilet. The problem lies with the water level and the shape of the bowl. Sanagloss is awful. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

Shoot, I was hoping somebody would tell me how you access the water line connection way up inside that tiny hole!

I have had great luck with Caroma toilets.

Yes, I too have regretfully purchased the Toto, Aquia MS654114MF, single piece. It NEVER flushes solids cleanly--even after flushing twice. I always have to clean with a brush, which is disgusting and annoying. We also recently replaced our other washroom toilet with Kohler's Saile single piece, and it works every time---no need to clean up after yourself--plus it's a really great looking toilet. Wish we had purchased this one instead.

I agree: DO NOT BUY THE TOTO AQUIA TOILET unless you like double flushing and cleaning out your bowl every time.

I have to agree. I am a journeyman plumber and additionally have a great working knowledge of hydrodynamics. The height of the water level in the bowl is determined by the height of the bottom of the "throat" or "neck" tube at its highest- after the bowl.

The bowl water when flushed, enters a tube. The tube curves upward above the waterline in bowl, and then back down and eventually to drain line. When water is still it rests up to the "floor" of the tube at its highest point. Any more water flows over the "tube floor" and down the drain.

The only way to raise the bowl water is to somehow raise this tube - which is cast in the porcelain just as the rest of the toilet.

I'm thinking - maybe - somehow place a block on this floor (now restricting water flow) and adding a tube at the "roof" of the tube, feeding up through and above the bowl to compensate for the loss of volume.

We have two of these in our home, and as gorgeous as a toilet can be, they are full of sh*t.
