Search this site for "cultured marble" or "cultured granite". There have been several threads on this. I've been researching this myself, for the same reason...don't want to spend any time scrubbing grout and inhaling chlorine bleach. Tere-stone is one brand name for this material. I'm awaiting quotes from 2 local dealers in cultured marble/granite. I've been told that when you factor in the cost of tile and installation, solid surface would be about equal.

I used swanstone in two remodeled baths. I absolutely love it. I will never, never clean grout again, not even think about cleaning moldy grout.
Swanstone is like corian. Search "swanstone" because i have posted quite recently about it. It is not cultured marble. We had durock installed behind it just because I'm nuts. The corners are secure. No leaks.
One caveat. The plain panels are much cheaper and better than the panels which have a border. We could not re-install our expensive glass sliders because of the swanstone border, but would have no problem w/ the borderless panel set. I call them my self-cleaning baths! B
