will things slip off glass shower shelves?

I would like to have glass corner shelves installed in my shower. I like the 'floating look' without the metal hardware. For example, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Glass-Corner-Shelf-10x10-Curve/dp/B009S83YPS/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_y

However, my husband thinks that the glass will be slippery so a metal bar along the front would be better to hold items back. He is looking at the following:

So, will the surface be an issue where bottles would slide off? Any recommendations and clarifications would be most helpful. Thank you!

If they are dead level, water might pool on them. You need a heavy enough bottle to not slip off a slanted shelf. I discovered this with my recently installed niche, which has a slight slant. Or wipe off the shelf after you shower.

You could easily have a water float things off a level shelf. It will act as a lubricant. I guess I agree with your husband on this one, although I like your idea.

Babka, could you elaborate on your sliding bottle issue? I have my 5" wide glass shelf all ready to install into my niche... Do I need to start thinking about installing a bar across? I have an 8" wide shelf in my downstairs shower, (cultured marble, not glass) and sliding hasn't been a concern.
