I'm seriously surprised they're still selling these. I bought 2 of the single vanities a couple of years ago and returned them to Costco immediately. When I received them the corner was busted off one of the marble tops and the knobs were falling off of the cabinets. When I tried to tighten the knobs they were stripped or something and wouldn't tighten down. The finish looked horrible, the construction was cheap and the marble was thin and brittle. They definately had a 'made in China' look and feel.

Right after I returned mine Costco put them on sale and then the price was reduced a second time. I just assumed they were clearancing them and weren't carrying them any longer.

Hi yadax, thanks for posting your experience. I wondered about the Made in China feel of it.

Oh well, I think I will have to put off the marble countertop for now.

Have you looked for pre-made marble tops yet? We ended up buying standard-sized 36" vanities for our MB and adding pre-made carrera marble tops from Home Depot. I haven't looked at them for several years now but at the time they cost us something like $125 - $150 each for 36" wide including the backsplash and sidesplash pieces.

It seems to get exponentially pricier when you go to a bigger size. I priced out premade ones at the big box stores for around $1200 for the countertop alone.

I got suckered into the price for this one. I think a basic 60 vanity is about $500 and a cultured marble can be bought for $300. So I was wondering if it was worth the extra $200 or so for this one.
