White Tile with Mapei Warm Gray or Frost

I can't make up my mind. I'm using white gloss subway tile for vanity backsplash, tub surround, and shower walls (dal tile rittenhouse arctic white). I'm also using daltile white matte octagon and dot tile for the floors. shower floor will be daltile uptown glass in matte alabaster. i would like the grout to ever so slightly pop the tile - nothing harsh, but something that distinguishes the tiles. also using silestone lyra quartz tub deck and vanity top so i think the gray would look nicely.

any input? i've spent all day looking at pictures online of finished projects with these two colors but it so hard to tell from pictures. especially interested in anyone who has seen these two grouts in person.

Hi, we just went through this ordeal for my son's bathroom covered with white subway tiles. After sifting through many pictures, my heart was set on Mapei's Frost - even though my contractor insisted on white. Unfortunately, Frost was not readily available since it's considered a special order color at Lowes and HD. My contractor suggested Warm Gray and mocked up a couple of tiles. For me, it was way too dark. Luckily, we called around a found a store 20 miles away that had 2 bags left. (Floor & Decor). We went with Frost and it looks gorgeous...even my contractor had to agree.

Although I believe the Warm Grey is a better choice, I'll just post a pic and let you decide. Frost is too close to white. In fact, unless they're side by side, I have a hard time telling them apart. The Warm Grey has just enough contrast to let you see the tile pattern, without overwhelming the whole installation.

@rightdi that would be so helpful! thanks everyone for their input. my concern is that frost is too close to white and won't make them pop enough. if it is gray enough, however, it's probably great!

Hi Bill,

Just wanted to follow the comment above. Is that a photo of frost or warm gray grout? Personally, I'm okay if the tiles don't "pop" completely, I just don't want there to be zero definition (where the grout blends into the tile).

For those who are interested, we're also using the Daltile Rittenhouse Square in the bathroom, and just got in the Merola Park Slope Beveled Tile from Home Depot (it's gorgeous, better than the other Daltile, Floor&Decor, and Lowe's brands of beveled subway tile; bright white, more shadow/depth to the bevel, I'm excited to use this for my kitchen backsplash). Thanks!
