painting bathroom cabinets

My bathroom has white tub, toilet and sink, the tiles are white with blue and the floor is light blue. But - the cabinets are an espresso oak. They are the original cabinets, back when everything was oak. They are in great shape, I'd like to paint them white to brighten it up. I've been reading all about it, some say use oil base paints, but the white will yellow, so I'd prefer not to use them. Any suggestions for a really good paint for the bathroom? This is the main bathroom that we shower in, so moisture is a consideration. I'd like something semi gloss, that won't mildew. I've read that Cabinet Coat is good (is this oil based?) or BM advance. Which, if either, is better? And, should I put a polyurethane topcoat? Here again, oil based will yellow, so I'd prefer water based. Which primer? Please help, I can't stand that dark oak much longer!
