ez-niche, laticrete to name a couple

We are DIYing a bathroom too. Dh is going to give a go of building his own, but as a backup plan we've identified the kerdi niche as a very nice one. It costs a tiny bit more than the plastic one at our discount to home store, but seems that it will be nicer to install.

Makes very little difference if done properly. You can certainly custom frame in a niche to meet the tile on the walls or just buy one. The Schluter Kerdi niche is fine, but a bit more $.

If it isn't sloped properly, just adjust it with some thinset and make SURE to properly waterproof it.

We purchased our niche online. It was sloped I think. The company was called Better Bench and Niche I think.
