Please help me avoid a BLAH beige bathroom!

I am having trouble selecting finishes for my master bath in a new construction house and would love some suggestions. Our master bath is not huge - about 9' wide with just under 4' between the vanity and shower.

I had read that choosing light colors that blend can make a space look larger rather than big contrasts between cabinets, floor /wall tile and walls. So, I found these 2 inspiration pictures and have so far selected creamy white cabinets and chrome fixtures. Now that I'm trying to pick the tile (including a few samples below), I am worried that I am going to have a room that looks like wall to wall beige and is very blah and boring rather than the light, bright, airy and calm effect that I am trying to achieve.

Would some glass mosaic accents in the shower do the trick, like the picture below, or should I go for a tile with more color? Any feedback appreciated!

To avoid the one-dimension look I am having medium/dark brown vanities installed (the floor is off-white, the walls beige). Also, go with a pattern for the vanity top - it can still be light-colored but a pattern involving dark colors will add contrast to the room. Other tricks: darken the trim/baseboards or get a mirror frame that is mahogany or other dark brown.

I think you can keep your tile, vanities, etc...light and neutral, but I would definitely jazz it up with some lovely accents. Some gorgeous hardware for your cabs would be a great start. I am really digging unlacquered (sp?) brass lately. It would look so pretty with the warm tones you are looking at. Also, some gorgeous light fixtures, well-framed art, and beautiful fabric for your window would give you some texture.

I personally LOVE your bathroom as it is. I find monochromatic rooms very serene.

Just stay away from definite beiges and lean toward whites and off-whites and it will be lighting and brighter.
