| Just finished a 2 bath remodel...we're very happy w/ the results, and I'll post this wkd on the galleries....Our shower is 12X12 cararra tiles. The outlet nipple where the handheld comes out apparently had too much pipe dope on it, and it has created a stain around this fitting.
GC is mad at the plumber, and they're trying to extract the stain with baking soda. Any other tips to remove? we know it's the pipe dope, as we tested another scrap tile, and it left the same "grease spot" stain. Since these are thick tiles, GC is hesitant to chisel out and replace. Also, he's good with tile, but not a master like Bill..I'm happy with his work, but not sure I trust him with trying to cut out 1 tile without messing up the surrounding brand new shower/custom glass, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! |

| For some reason the posting is not showing up in the forum list. Update. The "grease spot" seems to be less visible after a week of wet baking soda treatment. I am not completely satisfied with the results, but shiver at the thought of tearing out the 12x12 tile and replacing it... Any thoughts on stain removing from the Carrara marble would be greatly appreciated. I will try to post pics this weekend. Thanks in advance for any help! |
