Strom Plumbing/Sign of the Crab Exposed pipe shower

Has anyone out there used the Strom Plumbing/Sign of the crab exposed pipe thermostatic shower in a bathroom remodel? How does the quality compare to Perrin and Rowe ($2500) or Samuel Heath ($3600). Are the pipes substantial? Does the water flow well? can it easily be attached to a 3/4 inch rough since it's a 1/2 inch exposed? Thanks for any info.
