I thought ya all might get a kick out of this...it's not an earth shattering make over...but...here it is. Dh got a broken piece of granite off the jobsite....that prompted this little powder room update. He did all the work himself...I tried to get an arts & crafts feel...and make a small space "interesting"...

Nicole,
Your powder room looks great! I especially love how the beautiful hand-crafted sink goes so well with your (free:-)) granite! Job well done!

I added a new "touch" of oak to the BIG mirror to give it more "interest".

This is definitely worthy of 'Design on a Dime' I think it's a great remodel and really like the trim on the mirror

I see how Dh cut the granite with a diamond blade saw but how did he polish the edges and make the round cuts?

Also is there support under the granite above the commode?

Johndrew......He used a right angle grinder with a diamond blade to make the cut. Then used a diamond hone(from Harbour Freight, it's a 4-sided box)to polish it. Then instead of buffing it to death.....he sprayed gloss lacquer on the edge(quick & easy). Yes....he used a small, but thick, L-shaped piece of steel for support under the banjo.

Really very nice! Love the arts and crafts look. I wanted a stone shelf that went over the toilet and widened for the sink, but lacking a stone worker husband, had to give up that idea for budget reasons. Dang, some of the tile and stone stores around here are snooty when it comes to small jobs.

The toilet paper recess cut into the cabinet and framed! Yes! I want to put the TP holder on the side of the vanity when I do the kids' bath but there isn't enough space, so - just cut into that expensive vanity I bought - if I can match the stain.

I like it! The extra trim on the mirror is a great touch. Do you have a before picture?
