is floor suppose to vibrate when furance is on?

Hi everyone,

In my kicthen we have hardwood floors. Our heating furance is located in the basement, right underneath the kitchen. When the heater starts I can feel the floor vibrate and continues slightly when the heater is on. It feels like having a fan on the floor and standing right next to it. Should I be worried and bring it up with the builder? This is a new home and we're closing in 20 days. Thanks!

Yes, I would have it checked. Probably nothing major. Most likely the blower is out of balance having one of the counter-balance weights missing or just full of dirt if it was running during construction. I actually had the furnace in a new home filled with drywall dust as the tapers used the furnace while they were sanding.
