| Hi,
I had my final building inspection and the inspector asked me to drywall the space beneath the stairs. Its a small area and can be used for storage. None of my neighbours or friends have drywalled beneath the stairs. Is it required by code ? Thanks. |

| I would imagine you'd have to talk to your city or county folks as codes vary widely from place to place. |

| If the space below the stairs is accessible for storage, yes it is required to be drywalled for firecode reasons. |

| It is required if enclosed for storage. |
