| I need a new sump pump. My plumber told me i should put a new one in because the one i have looks like home depot crap and it turns on when i plug it in even with no water in the pump pit. What are the best systems. Not opposed to digging a deeper or different sized pit. This one is square and about 18" deep |

| See Inspectapedia on sump pumps. I confess I've had a number of submersible pumps installed--they're required in all new houses in my area--but have no idea what brand the plumber used. The only one that was a problem was a pedestal pump that couldn't be properly secured, kept tipping over and jamming. |
