finishing a vertical corner

I just framed and built a closet. I have to finish two outside corners. Others in the basement have been abused and are chipped / dented etc. I am wondering if that plastic stuff made for corners could be installed and how much protection it would offer. I friend suggested running a suspended ceiling grid corner piece vertically on the outside corners for durability....thoughts...

RE: finishing a vertical corner

You can use bullnose structural laminate corners that are dent resistant.

Here, people who play ball hockey and such in their basements don't finish them in other than plywood.
