Seemingly all of a sudden, our basement has taken on a new smell. I can only describe it as smelling like halitosis. It's not musty at all. In fact, the smell became apparent shortly after we installed a heavy duty dehumidifier. Probably a coincidence but odd. There is no smell coming from the dehumidifier output...in fact we stopped running it because of the odd smell...but the smell remains.

Any ideas what it might be?
