| A portion of our basement to be finished is directly under our family room which has hard wood floors. Right now there is R11 insulation bats between the floor joists in the basement. I was going to add an Armstrong ceiling tile ceiling using the cheapest tile HD sells. It dawned on me that there is no plumbing at this end of the house so I likley could drywall the area saving $$$$. Sound is a concern though. Which would better insulate the upstairs from the sound below. |
