| We are buying a house with a large basement that faces a very dramatically downward-sloping backyard. It looks like it would have been easily built as a walkout but for some reason it wasn't. How difficult is it to do this, and what is involved?
We're not thinking of doing this anytime soon, but I would like to know what issues are involved as we make long-term plans. Thanks! |

| More details are needed. However, if your basement floor is level or nearly so with the grading, it might be as simple as cutting the wall putting in an appropriately sized steel header at the top and an outside door(s). |
