Small diameter hose for dehumidifier

I have a regular garden hose hooked up to my dehumidifier. It works fine, but I'm wondering if there is a way to put an adapter on somewhere, so I can reduce the the diameter of the hose that runs across the floor. It doesn't seem like it necessary to have a garden hose size hose when water only trickles out. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can cut off the fitting at the end of the hose and use a push-in reduction coupling.
