Fiberglass insulation under subfloor?

Posted by peter_l (My Page) on

I'm wondering if I can use fiberglass batt insulation instead of the rigid polystyrene foam in between the sleepers on my floor. I have a lot left over and the rigid foam is expensive.

Thanks.

RE: Fiberglass insulation under subfloor?

Damp fiberglass supports mildew growth and flooded fiberglass will support bacteria growth. I wouldn't put fiberglass anywhere below grade, floors or wall.
