Easy indoor basement walkway?

Inside of basement has an area that is all sand. So when people come and go from the basement, sand can come inside of house sometimes. Whats an easy/inexpensive way to have a walkway in the basement on top of sand? The area is about 20 feet long, and I would have to curve the walkway to get to the door.

If the sand is nice and clean I would get a couple of bags of Portland Cement and make concrete out of the sand. Very inexpensive and easy experience wise. It will take some muscle though.

I'd set flagstone or pavers right on the sand. Set them off center from each other to get the curve you need.
